Studio Time
Studio Time is an immersive VR music experience that tells the story of a photographer who returns to their studio to retrieve a forgotten watch, only to discover that the photography equipment has come to life and is secretly performing as a band. Users can explore the scene in virtual reality, immersing themselves in the different musical elements. They must decide whether to reclaim the watch and interrupt the equipment’s fun or let the performance continue.
The experience explores the narrative of those usually working behind the scenes stepping into the spotlight. Through the metaphor of the watch, it invites reflection on the nature of time—whether it’s a physical measurement or a subjective sensation.

Spatial audio for musical expression
Studio Time features eight original tracks produced by me, along with a camera sound sourced from an open platform. To design for an ambisonic environment, I began by using the immersive audio design tool Inviso to conceptualize the music experience and determine the sound types and source locations.
I then embedded the ambisonic composition within the VR environment, synchronizing sounds with 3D objects, environmental elements, and animations. Additional considerations, such as sound occlusion, were addressed to account for the increasing complexity of the scene.
